MASTER WORKSHOPS

Join Jai & her team for a one-day interactive workshop focused on lighting, posing and adding an editorial edge to your portfolio. This day is geared for beginner-to-intermediate photographers looking to increase their confidence in the studio. Jai’s work is classic & sensual and throughout the day she’ll share her approach to crafting beautiful images in camera. From styling and lighting to working with a creative team and directing subjects, you’ll leave with the tools to confidently create your own magic at home. Jai believes strongly that we learn best by doing, so this immersive day will also include times for participants to photograph an agency model with Jai next to you, providing coaching and feedback. It’s a day focused on building your portfolio, connecting with our incredible creative community and taking a look into what it’s like to run a luxury portrait business.   • DATE: TBA

  • LOCATION: Dallas, TX.  The studio is just outside of downtown Dallas. If you’re flying in, we’re located 40 minutes from both the DFW and Love Field Airports. 

  • STUDIO: Our studio is located inside a beautifully restored 1910 mill and has been designed to resemble a European salon. It offers 20-foot ceilings, distressed wood floors, beautiful light and Instagram-ready accent rooms (selfie away!).

  • ACCESS: We’ll be using a mixture of hand painted backdrops & seamless papers, Elinchrom lights with an assortment of modifiers and pieces from the studio wardrobe to style our model. A hair & makeup artist will be on-set to change up the looks and demonstrate working alongside a photographer to create editorial looks. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

  • LIGHTING: Jai will be working predominantly with strobes during this workshop. 

  • INVESTMENT: $1500. Deposit is $1000. The remainder will be due 4 weeks prior to the class.

  • IMAGE RIGHTS & USAGE: All images you take during this workshop are yours to use in your portfolio. However, images may not be published nor submitted to magazines or competitions without written permission. The images may never be used to advertise your own workshops or products. Jai Mayhew Photography reserves the right to take photos and video of the day and use them to advertise future workshops.

  • CANCELLATION: This workshop is kept small to ensure an intimate, hands-on environment. If you can no longer attend, you are welcome to attend a future workshop or put your credit towards a private mentoring session. The deposit is non-refundable.

  • TRAVEL DETAILS: You are responsible for your own hotel and travel to the workshop. After registering, we will provide you with a list of recommended hotels. As travel restrictions can change suddenly, we suggest making sure your flight and accommodations are refundable.
